Juventus have played in black and white striped shirts, with white shorts, sometimes black shorts since 1903. Originally, they played in pink shirts with a black tie, but only because they had been sent the wrong shirts. The father of one of the players made the earliest shirts, but continual washing faded the colour so much that in 1903 the club sought to replace them.[39]
Juventus asked one of their team members, Englishman John Savage, if he had any contacts in England who could supply new shirts in a color that would better withstand the elements. He had a friend who lived in Nottingham, who being a Notts County supporter, shipped out the black and white striped shirts to Turin.[39] Juve have worn the shirts ever since, considering the colors to be aggressive and powerful.[39]
Juventus Football Club’s official emblem has undergone different and small modifications since the second decade of the twentieth century. The last modification of the Old Lady’s badge took place before 2004–05 season. At the present time, the emblem of the team is a black-and-white oval shield of a type used by Italian ecclesiastics. It is divided in five vertical stripes: two white stripes and three black stripes, inside which are the following elements; in its upper section, the name of the society superimposed on a white convex section, over golden curvature (gold for honour). The white silhouette of a charging bull is in the lower section of the oval shield, superimposed on a black old French shield; the charging bull is a symbol of the Comune di Torino.

Juventus were founded as Sport Club Juventus in late 1897 by pupils from the Massimo D’Azeglio Lyceum school in Turin,[20] but were renamed as Foot-Ball Club Juventus two years later.[3] The club joined the Italian Football Championship during 1900. During this period the team wore a pink and black kit. Juventus first won the league championship in 1905 while playing at their Velodromo Umberto I ground. By this time the club colours had changed to black and white stripes, inspired by English side Notts County.[21]
There was a split at the club in 1906, after some of the staff considered moving Juve out of Turin.[3] President Alfredo Dick was unhappy with this and left with some prominent players to found FBC Torino which in turn spawned the Derby della Mole.[22] Juventus spent much of this period steadily rebuilding after the split, surviving the First World War.
Lech Poznań is considered to have the strongest fan support in Poland due to club’s highest average attendance in Ekstraklasa and the atmosphere during the games.
For over a decade Lech supporters have a fellowship with fans from Arka Gdynia and Cracovia Kraków (the popular watchword: ‘Miłość, Wiara, Walka – Lech Cracovia Arka’ i.e. ‘Love, Faith, Fight – Lech, Cracovia, Arka’). Close friendship links Lech fans also with KSZO Ostrowiec supporters (since 1992).
Relations with local rival Warta Poznań are neutral as the clubs have almost always played in different leagues.

In 1985, Juventus became the first club in the history of European football to have won all three major UEFA club competitions, the European Champion Clubs’ Cup, the (now-defunct) UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and the UEFA Cup (first Italian and Southern European side to win the competition).[13][14][15] After their triumph in the World Club Cup in the same year, Juventus FC also became the first football team ever —remains the only one at present— to have won all official international competitions.[16][17]
Juventus have a larger fan base than any other Italian club,[18] and at 170 million, they also have one of the highest numbers of supporters world-wide (it. the tifosi).[19] The club are one of the founders of the European Club Association, which was formed after the dissolution of the G-14, a collection of Europe’s most elite clubs. The Torinese side is also recognised for its contributions to the Italian national team.
Lech Poznań has played a total of 50 games in the European Cups during the years 1978–2009 (as for September 2009) The most memorable games in the club’s history were the clashes against FC Barcelona in the 1988/1989 season of Cup Winners’ Cup second round. After both matches ended with 1–1 draw, Lech Poznań lost the penalty shoot-out with 4–5. FC Barcelona won the Cup Winners’ Cup that season.
The club’s biggest success in European Cup appearances was eliminating the Greek champion Panathinaikos during the 1990/1991 season First Round, with a 5–1 score on aggregate. In the next tie Lech was knocked out by Olympique de Marseille, but achieved a good result at home with a 3–2 win. Few years earlier, during the 1983/1984 season Lech made quite a big surprise with a 2–0 win at home against Spanish champions Athletic Bilbao.
During the UEFA Cup 2008–09 season, Lech made it to the group stage of the competition after knocking out higher seeded teams of Grasshopper-Club Zürich (notching its greatest margin of victory with a 6–0 win at home) and FK Austria Wien (scoring the decisive goal in the last minute of extra-time). In the group stage, Lech finished third-placed ahead of AS Nancy and Feyenoord to secure a place in the Third Round, where it was knocked out by the Italian side Udinese Calcio.

Paris Saint-Germain’s traditional colours are a blue shirt with a red central vertical bar framed by white edgings. It was designed by fashion designer Daniel Hechter, who collaborated with the club to design the iconic shirt which would become a strong symbol of the club. This shirt was first used between 1973 and 1974 in Division 2. The current badge was adopted in 2002. The logo consists of a red silhouette of the Eiffel Tower with the royal white cradle of Louis XIV underneath it and a blue background.[10]
Paris Saint-Germain enjoys a considerable amount of popularity; about 11% of the French population support the club. PSG is the second most popular football club in France after Olympique de Marseille.[11] Their average home gate for the 2009–10 season was 33,266, the fourth highest in the Ligue 1.[12] PSG fans are known as Les Parisiens. The club shares an intense rivalry with Olympique de Marseille and contest the most notorious football match in France, known as Le Classique.[13][14]
As of April 2010, Paris Saint-Germain is the third richest club in France after Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille.[15] The club was also one of the 14 founder members of the now-defunct G-14 group of the leading European football clubs and is member of its modern replacement, the European Club Association. PSG also operates a reserve team and a female section since 1971.
Having finished 6th in the 2004–05 season, Sevilla secured a place in the first round of the 2005–06 UEFA Cup. After advancing through the first round and the group stage of competition, Sevilla beat Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow[8] to advance to the round of 16. On 9 March, Sevilla lost 1–0 to French club Lille OSC in the first leg of their home-and-away match,[9] but, on 15 March at home in Sevilla’s 50th game in European competition, Sevilla won 2–0 to advance to the quarter-finals.[10] In these matches, which took place against Zenit St. Petersburg on 30 March, and 6 April 2006, Sevilla won 5–2 on aggregate and advanced to the semi-finals. [11] In the semis, Sevilla knocked out the strong German side Schalke 04 after 180 goalless minutes, with Antonio Puerta scoring the decisive goal in extra time of the return leg. That goal was called by the fans “el gol que nos cambió la vida” – “the goal that changed our lives”, because thanks to it, Sevilla played their first European final.[12] On 10 May 2006, in the 2006 UEFA Cup Final, Sevilla broke a 58 year drought on trophies and became the first Andalusian team to win a European final. Sevilla defeated Middlesbrough 4–0 in Eindhoven to win the their first UEFA Cup with the largest margin of victory in a UEFA Cup final. One goal came from Luís Fabiano, two from Enzo Maresca, and one by Frédéric Kanouté.[13] At that time, Sevilla was the only European team which had played in the three major competitions (the European Cup, Cup Winner’s Cup and UEFA Cup) and had never lost any game (out of 27) when playing on their home stadium until they lost to AZ on 14 December 2006.

Sevilla Fútbol Club S.A.D. is a Spanish professional football club that plays in the top-flight Spanish La Liga championship. The club was established on 14 October 1905, making it the oldest football club from Seville, and the second oldest from Andalusia.
Paris Saint-Germain Football Club (French pronunciation: [paʁi sɛ̃ ʒɛʁmɛ̃]), also known simply as Paris Saint-Germain and familiarly as Paris SG or PSG (IPA: [peɛsʒe]) is a professional football club based in Paris, France. It was founded on August 12, 1970, thanks to the merger of Paris FC (a pool of financial investors) and Stade Saint-Germain. After 20,000 subscriptions from individuals desperate to see an elite football club in Paris, a group of local businessmen, led by Guy Crescent, CEO of Calberson and Pierre-Étienne Guyot, Vice-president of RCF Paris, asked the directors of Stade Sangermanois to become part of their project. The creation of Paris Saint-Germain F.C. marked the reappearance of a major club in Paris after the decline of Racing Paris, Red Star, Stade Français and CA Paris. The club’s motto is “Paris Est Magique” (Paris Is Magic). The official PSG anthem is Allez Paris Saint-Germain by Les Parisiens.[1]
Paris Saint-Germain has been playing in the Ligue 1 since 1974, the current championship record. The capital club is one of the most prestigious outfits in French football having won two League titles, seven French Cups, three League Cups and two Champions Trophies. PSG is, with Olympique de Marseille, one of only two French clubs to have won a European competition, claiming the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996 and the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2001.[2] In 1994, Paris was ranked 1st in the Club World Ranking made by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics,[3] and in 1996, Les Rouge-et-Bleu were also ranked 1st in the UEFA coefficient of Top Clubs.[4] The capital club is the only French club to ever achieve these honours. As of 30 August 2010, the club is ranked 105th

A long period of decline followed the success of the 1960s and 1970s. Malcolm Allison rejoined the club to become manager for the second time in 1979, but squandered large sums of money on unsuccessful signings, such as Steve Daley.[19] A succession of managers then followed – seven in the 1980s alone, the first being John Bond who succeeded Allison in October 1980. Under Bond, City reached the 1981 FA Cup final but lost in a replay to Tottenham Hotspur. The following season began well and they went top of the league just after Christmas, only to finish mid-table at the end of the season. They were relegated a year later, and reclaimed their top flight status two years afterwards, only to lose it within another two years. They returned to the top flight again in 1989 and finished fifth in 1991 and 1992 under the management of Peter Reid.[20] However, this was only a temporary respite, and following Reid’s departure Manchester City’s fortunes continued to fade. City were founders of the Premier League upon its creation in 1992, but after finishing ninth in its first season they endured three seasons of struggle before being relegated in 1996. Two years after that, they were relegated to Division Two – becoming the first former winners of a European trophy to be relegated to the third tier of their domestic league.

After relegation, the club underwent off-the-field upheaval, with new chairman David Bernstein introducing greater fiscal discipline.[21] City were promoted at the first attempt, achieved in dramatic fashion in a play-off against Gillingham. A second successive promotion saw City return to the top division, but this proved to have been a step too far for the recovering club, and in 2001 City were relegated once more. Kevin Keegan arrived as the new manager in the close season, bringing an immediate return to the top division as the club won the 2001–02 Division One championship, breaking club records for the number of points gained and goals scored in a season in the process.
FC Red Bull Salzburg is an Austrian football club, based in Wals-Siezenheim. Their home ground is the Red Bull Arena. The club was known as SV Austria Salzburg before being bought by the Red Bull company in 2005 who renamed the club and changed the club’s colours from its traditional violet and white to red and white. The change resulted in some of the team’s fans forming a new club, SV Austria Salzburg. The club has won the Austrian Bundesliga 6 times, and reached the final of the UEFA Cup in 1994.
